'Tis the Season

Lo, how a Rose e'er blooming from tender stem hath sprung.
Of Jesse's lineage coming, as men of old have sung.
It came, a floweret bright, amid the cold of winter,
When half spent was the night.

Isaiah 'twas foretold it, the Rose I have in mind;
With Mary we behold it, the Virgin Mother kind.
To show God's love aright, she bore to us a Savior,
When half spent was the night.

Whatever you celebrate at this time of year, I hope it's filled with joy (and knitting).

Not a carol we hear much in this part of the country...but now you and Carole King. You're in good company.
I'm reknitting a Christmas sock. I have no clue what ogre I thought would be wearing it. Especially when it went to my DIL. Good thing I only did 1; I'd hate to have to reknit both.

Oh no! Another reason for me to add to my list of why I don't knit socks.

Socks aren't that bad...when you read the needle size correctly. Which I didn't. (we won't talk about swatching)
